thank you mia and christo, i had so much fun.
the rest will follow soon…
this was extraordinary,
this was special,
this is love.
we have a new family member,
Blakely Fotheringham.
this little human is my sister and her husbands` youngest and very new and very little baby.
i of course had the honors of taking pictures of this little beauty and her beautiful mother.
these two ladies made the most beautiful pictures.
Â
happy valentines day, you two.
but wait, there will be more.
spending new years eve in the kalahari was a new experience in so many ways. Â the four of us set of early that afternoon. as we left our hometown i remembered that i left the childrens` medicine case at home, but felt a little relieved knowing that the farm was equipped with medicine if necessary. Â late that afternoon as everyone got ready to go on a game drive, the fear-striken scream of my son ringed through my ears and what greeted me was not a friendly face. Â his face and neck was covered in blood and i was filled with panic. Â i had no idea what happened and thinking straight was difficult. Â …as the peacock flew away its claw scratched dewalds` face and shoulder and the nail bored a hole in the flesh near his nose.
needless to say my new years’ eve was rather unusual but i have memories that will last forever and a story to tell.
that night just before the clock struck 12, dewald woke from his sleep and we connected.  i had to bath him at that hour and afterwards i had to bottle feed our newborn.  as i sat in bed with katryn in my arms and my hand nestled in dewalds`, i heard the others pop the champagne.  at that moment i felt so connected to my children, i felt cosy and warm inside, i felt important and worthy.  i realised that although children changes our lives in so many ways, the change is good and neccessary.  i remembered how previous new years` eves were spent and laughed at how i celebrated this one.  it was a day filled with tears and panic but ended in a way that words cannot describe, the memory of that night will be remembered and the story will be told for years to come.
capturing this couples` moments was the most fun i`ve had in a while,
we laughed so much and each photo is proof of this.
due to the fun overload,
i had to share so much photos.
mj and ann-jolene,
congratulations on your one year anniversary and thank you
for the opportunity to capture these memories.
